Terms of Service
Draft status — operator confirmation required
This document describes how the Dao Oracle service is intended to operate. It is published so that users can read it before registering. It is not yet a legally effective agreement, because the following items have not been confirmed by the operator:
- the legal entity that operates Dao Oracle and its registered address;
- the privacy and legal contact mailbox;
- the governing law and the forum for disputes;
- the effective date and any jurisdiction-specific consumer disclosures.
Once those items are confirmed, this draft will be reissued as the effective Terms of Service with a new version number. Items awaiting confirmation are marked [TO BE CONFIRMED] below.
1. Who we are
Dao Oracle is an AI-assisted reflection service available at daooracle.truemiwa.xyz. The service is operated by [TO BE CONFIRMED: legal entity name], whose registered address is [TO BE CONFIRMED: registered address] ("we", "us", "our").
These Terms form an agreement between you and the operator of Dao Oracle. They apply to the website, the reading experience, the optional long-term memory feature, and any related support channel we make available.
2. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account, or by continuing to use Dao Oracle as a guest, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if that is higher, to create an account. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.
3. Your account
3.1 Registration
Accounts are created with an email address, a display name and a password. We send a six-digit verification code to the email address you provide. The code is valid for five minutes, can be attempted a limited number of times, and is subject to sending frequency limits. You must not share, publish or automate the retrieval of verification codes.
3.2 Account security
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that occurs through your account. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; we never store or display your password in plain text. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us at [TO BE CONFIRMED: security contact].
3.3 One account per person
You may not create accounts to evade limits, to abuse free features, or to interfere with other users. We may suspend or close accounts that are used to attack the service or to circumvent safeguards.
4. The service
Dao Oracle offers a structured reflection experience. You choose an emotion and one of six deities, cast a six-line hexagram, and receive an AI-generated reflection. The experience is organised in three acts: Light (setting the question), Cast (forming the hexagram) and Reflect (reading and follow-up questions).
Readings are generated by a large language model. They are produced for reflection and entertainment. They are not predictions of the future, and they are not professional advice of any kind.
5. AI-generated content and its limits
- Outputs are probabilistic. The same question and hexagram may produce different wording on different occasions.
- Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for your situation.
- Dao Oracle does not provide medical, psychological, legal, financial, employment or relationship advice, and nothing in a reading should be treated as such.
- Do not rely on a reading for a decision that carries material risk. Consult a qualified professional instead.
- If you are in crisis or at risk of harm, contact local emergency services or a crisis line. Dao Oracle is not an emergency service.
6. Your content
You may enter a question, follow-up questions and, if you enable the optional memory feature, short notes. You keep ownership of that content. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to operate the service for you: to generate the reading, to answer your follow-ups, and — only where you explicitly enabled memory — to store the notes you confirmed.
Do not submit content that is unlawful, that infringes another person's rights, or that contains another person's sensitive personal information without their permission. Do not submit content you are not entitled to share.
7. Optional long-term memory
Long-term memory is off by default. If you enable it, you may save up to 20 short notes per account, each up to 280 characters, and each note is tied to one deity. Notes are retained for up to 180 days from saving, and you can delete individual notes or all of them at any time from the memory panel. Disabling memory stops future use and removes the stored notes from active use.
Memory notes are used only to inform readings for your own account. They are not published, sold, or used to train third-party models by us. You can withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that already took place.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to access another user's account, session or memory;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service without written permission;
- automate requests in a way that degrades the service or bypasses rate limits;
- reverse engineer or copy the service except where the law expressly permits it;
- use the service to harass, defame or harm another person;
- introduce malware or attempt to disrupt the service.
9. Guest access
You may explore parts of Dao Oracle as a guest. A guest session is stored in a cookie and expires after 24 hours. Guest sessions cannot save long-term memory, and guest activity is not linked to an account.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Dao Oracle available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, be suspended for maintenance, or be withdrawn. If a reading fails, the interface offers a safe way to check whether it completed before trying again; repeated automatic retries are intentionally limited.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new version number before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Paid features
Paid draw features may be offered in some configurations. Where payments are enabled, the price, currency and payment channel are shown before you confirm a purchase, and the applicable payment terms are presented at checkout. Where payments are not enabled, no charge can be made.
Nothing in this draft creates an entitlement to a paid feature that is not currently offered.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that a reading will meet your expectations or that the service will be free of errors.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunities, arising from your use of the service or reliance on a reading. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or to the minimum amount required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the service would create a security or legal risk. Where practical, we will explain the reason.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [TO BE CONFIRMED: governing law]. Disputes will be subject to the courts of [TO BE CONFIRMED: jurisdiction], without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms: [TO BE CONFIRMED: legal contact email]. Questions about personal data: see the Privacy Policy.
